Serving at Dixie.

We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered multiplication. This is our process for discipleship. Out of this gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.

Focus Week

(Love God, Love People)

Focus Week is a one-week event usually held in the Fall.  The church picks a group from the community on which to Focus an outpouring of love.  (examples of past groups: bank employees, Warrior Center men, downtown employees, school janitors & cafeteria workers, salon workers). The week is preceded by 30 to 40 days of prayer for each individual in the group by assigned individuals of the church.  During each day of the actual Focus Week, the church carries out an activity for the focus group to express the love of Christ in an "extravagant" manner.

YEP!

(Youth Evangelism Project)

The YEP! mission camp is a hands-on mission/worship/discipleship experience for students grades 6-12.  The camp is held on the DHBC campus the last week of June each year.

YEP! is an acronym for Youth Evangelism Projects.  Students participate in a mission projects TRAC, 4 worship celebrations, and numerous discipleship moments.  TRACs are made up of five three-hour mission/evangelism projects that serve the community of Hardeman County in the name of Jesus.  Worship celebrations are led by a guest praise leader and a guest speaker.  Discipleship moments occur throughout the camp and are led by students and local youth pastors.

YEP! began in 2013 when three churches partnered together to provide a local mission camp experience for their youth (Dixie Hills Baptist, Hornsby Baptist, Parsons Chapel Baptist).  The founding churches are all still apart of this ministry and have had the privilege to partner with many new churches in the community as well.

Guatemala Partnership

Through prayer, financial assistance, and yearly mission trips Dixie Hills has partnered with our brothers and sisters in Christ from the First Baptist Church in Jalapa, Guatemala under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Beza.  Each year Dixie Hills takes 1-2 mission trips to Jalapa, Guatemala to assist Pastor Beza and the member of First Baptist Church Jalapa in ministry.  Outreach consist of witnessing in local school, VBS day camps, food box deliveries, street evangelism, medical services, discipleship training, and worship services.
